Membership

The Verde Village Property Owners Association (VVPOA) is a not-for-profit association. We have rebranded to do business as VVCC – Verde Village Community Connection. There are many benefits of membership in this community that is dedicated to “Connecting Neighbors with Neighbors.”

Connection is like a candle that loses nothing by lighting another candle, it enriches all parties.

The world is complicated and having a community center is a shortcut. You don’t have to use trial and error.

We are an organization that gives credibility to your getting your needs met by other members of the community. Where you might not know who to ask or how to ask for help, we can do that for you.

We are not asking for a superficial connection. We are offering value for life.

What can we do for you as a member of this community?

How can we discover the solutions to your problems?

Every connection to get to know someone is an opportunity to create benefit to everyone in the community because as you share your needs and concerns, it gives us the opportunity to note who, where and what might be solutions in the network.

Volunteering is being part of the network.

It often enables deeper connections with each other as we work alongside each other.

Events bring us together in a different way to celebrate and have a common experience.

With an emphasis on community, the Verde Village Community Connection offers members a way to get to know neighbors and find ways to help each other out.

All the facilities, programs, food service, gaming, and administrative tasks are made possible by volunteers. Membership donations are just a part of the funds needed to maintain the VVPOA properties.

Members own a sparkling pool, a large clubhouse with a commercial kitchen for meals and events, and a smaller original ranch house that is ideally sized for private rentals. We own a large pond with a Ramada and table, a path with benches that walkers and birders can enjoy. We also own a beautiful Nature Preserve along the Verde River, with several river walks, benches and picnic tables.

What are your suggestions for how to improve as a community?
Become Cottonwood
Have a “get to know your neighbour event for each “unit” at a location in the unit.
Communication and helping one another
grow awareness of how we need each other and can help each other, wake up to the opportunities the Verde Village may have due to its properties and facilities, connect in person working on projects of mutual benefit
Enforce the CC&R rules (any which were in effect years ago have expired)
Hold neighbors accountable for not maintaining their house or yard.
Less interference by hoa (The VVPOA has never been an HOA)
get clean up crews to help clean up trashy areas
Honestly think it’s a losing cause .VV too spread out , too many renters
Removal of brush from easements for FIRE safety.
Help the elderly with yard care such as lawn, mowing, leaf, raking, etc.
Get back to regular meetings. I don’t get any response from my emails that have been sent. I have no idea what is going on with the committee. Who is making decisions? I may not continue to be a paying member if I have no idea what is going on there.
High speed internet
Incorporate into the City of Cottonwood
More assistance for Verde Village population (i.e. Next door request for assistance)
Volunteer programs to assist those who need help with home projects
Need for an off leash dog park on this side of town.
Accessibility Enhancements: Recommend improvements to ensure facilities are inclusive, such as adding ramps or accessible restroom features.
Keep and improve the pond
I don’t necessarily want an HOA but would be nice if people couldn’t leave junk out or cars on the streets (The VVPOA has never been an HOA)
Not sure you can get people to care about how their property looks. We have some houses that are taken care of and look nice. Then we have some with boarded up windows and trash everywhere. We also have one that has been vacant for years. Not sure how we can fix that.
True 5G wireless service
Develop volunteer programs to assist neighbors
Block party
The amount of trash scattered j the sides of the streets is really surprising to me (a newer resident of the verde village.) I pick up trash when I can, but I’d like a larger scale and longer term solution. Why are people throwing garage willy nilly into our shared spaces??
How about trails made through the empty spaces where water comes through . Plenty of open area for trails
Use Nextdoor to communicate about local events and take off all the ads for showers, roofs, etc.
That’s a hard question. Hopefully this year people will feel better about getting more involved with their community and meeting there neighbors again. Maybe potlucks, etc.
Keep up your good work.
I would like to see a shaded park/play area for children, a place for people to walk/play with their dogs, a safe walking path for active seniors. Maybe a basketball court, pickleball court, or picnic area with a small fountain. Maybe a STEAM area. Clarkdale got grants to advance the Selna-Mongini Park so maybe we could get grants for a park in the Villages. A lot of children catch the buses in our units so we know we have children that could use them. We also have a lot of people out walking their dogs or alone just going for a walk/run.
If there’s room, put in a basketball and/or tennis court for the VVCC community to use.
Have more educational speaker evenings
We would like to see properties better maintained. Get the county to crackdown on ones that have non working vehicles stored on site as well as automotive repair shops in private homes.
We all have varied skills and.many have extra time. So organize accordingly as a group to apply skills when needed or useful
Limit number of junk cars and debris
If we install a well, we will maintain the pond as it was intended to be, and as a desirable benefit to the community. We could supply a box of grocery bags to pick up dog waste at the pond. Possibly star parties (contact Astronomers of the Verde Valley). Maybe a local Farmer’s Market at the clubhouse (since we have the community garden on Comanche)? Also, a birds list like the Audubon Society has, to enjoy our natural habitat, and to use our Nature Preserve and Pond areas in full, to bring awareness and value to our community.
Approve bylaws that pertain to automobiles , etc not parked on a driveway . Junk around homes , old cars etc need to be fined !
You are doing great
I’ve noticed your efforts to create a community, just keep it up.
I am happy with your current outreach.
Homeowners need to clean up the trash, etc. in both their front and back yards.
Would be nice not to have so much noise (cars/quad/large commercial trucks, dogs, partying/screaming, fireworks, kids shooting air rifles, etc.) Respect would go a long way toward folks getting along better (all over the world.)
Get cottonwood more involved with the verde village, by having events
Get a noise ordinance law for the loud cars (pop-pop noise), loud music and loud parties. Push to get the law thru the County Supervisor.
Continue maintaining river trails
Get people to clean up their yard so they don’t look like a disaster.
Yard cleanup

what kind of programs are out there?

Emergency preparedness programs
Better communication with actual results. Offer people solutions and info on who to contact when questions arise.
Handyman, senior assists/support, group service projects

Since I live in VV#4, I agree with the potential of utilizing the clubhouse as a home base for all of the units, and should be highlighted for neighborhood activities and social gatherings. Social programs should be geared towards the needs of the community, such as games (pinochle, cards, painting), or light exercise classes for the retired residents. The pool could be helpful for water aerobics. Or a walking club, to walk the neighborhoods together and meet neighbors. A small bike track on the clubhouse property could serve the younger residents safely, or maybe a volleyball net, or tetherballs, or horseshoes.
Guest speakers on different subjects, such as tax help, and local resources for those in need could prove beneficial. The programs that are implemented in the city limits can be mimicked in our own Verde Village community.
