WHY IT MATTERS
The people who live in this area known as the Verde Village are a community, whether organized or not. We impact each other’s lives daily just because we live next to each other. We have the opportunity to do so in a positive way.

Volunteers are the people working to meet the goals of the VVCC organization for the community. We are the people making the change we desire. This impacts the development of community as a whole and the well-being of all members of the community.

When individuals volunteer for the VVCC, they have an opportunity for personal growth that they may not have realized. They can connect with peers in a common task and perhaps learn a new skill and build confidence while working together. It provides fulfillment in feeling that they are giving back to support the community that supports them.

The lasting connections that come from volunteering may come in handy at unexpected moments. Also, the time, energy, and enthusiasm for a project can spread like the ripple effect to others in the community.

If you’ve ever thought about making a difference while building connections locally, consider volunteering in some way. You can find some activity that interests you, utilizes your skills, and allows you to join a team of caring individuals contributing to their community.

Together we can make the Verde Village a welcoming and thriving vibrant place.

Currently, a team of 17 or so Board members and a dozen or so other volunteers contribute thousands of hours collectively to run the organization and provide events and services to members.

The hours are spent on essential activities, such as creating a budget, making decisions about priorities and how they can be carried out, fundraising, rental of an apartment, community hall, ranch room and kitchen, outreach to the community with newsletters, press releases, and social media and website updates, maintaining properties, keeping the pool open, maintained and supervised, making a dent in maintaining the Nature Preserve, researching what to do about the Duck Pond when the water supply ends in 2027, and so much more.

Are you moved to help? There are so many ways that can fit your time and skills.

Contact a Board member if you are not sure how you might be able to help or wonder what the current needs are.
